A beautiful stone fireplace takes center stage in the living room of this rich yet cozy beach cottage. An oil painting of sailing ships hints at the ocean just steps away.

This Charleston cottage wears a pleasing mix of natural and painted wood.
Dennis Moffitt Painting – beach style kitchen
You’ll find painted cabinets and farmhouse style in the kitchen. The wood counter top on the kitchen island gives the room additional warmth, and the school style pendants add a charm all their own.
Dennis Moffitt – dining room ideas
In the kitchen, a cozy dining nook includes a built-in banquette and more beach paintings.
Plenty of architectural details fill the Charleston cottage, like the transom window above the doorway leading into the kitchen.
Beach style bathroom ideas
Is it possible to fall in love with a bathroom? If the answer is yes, then I’m in love! The double faucet farm sink creates a charming focal point in the wallpapered bathroom.
On second thought … I think it’s this amazing bathtub that steals the show in the bathroom!

In the master bedroom you’ll find another stone fireplace. The vaulted ceilings don’t look cavernous since they’re lined with warm wood. In my childhood home we had a vaulted ceiling in the combination living/dining room. That ceiling was also lined with wood and kept the room feeling cozy.
Kids’ room design inspiration
Such a darling girl’s room with plenty of white and touches of pink. Patterned roman shades in patchwork style lend country appeal in this Charleston cottage.
Beach style staircase design ideas
Even the staircase in this charming home pays attention to detail … note the nautical style handrail!
Thanks for dropping by on Mother’s Day. My children is cooking an Italian meal for me at my son’s place, and then we’re doing something else but no one is telling me what that something else is. I’m sure I’ll enjoy the day, whatever it holds.
