Add instant farmhouse appeal to your home by creating country style wall art with a pair of vintage cow printables. Enjoy these soft images of beautiful cows in peaceful fields during the summertime.
Today I’m joining a group of bloggers to share free printables for you to use and enjoy. A special thank you to Krista at The Happy Housie for organizing this creative and fun event! It gave me the motivation I needed to fill a blank wall in my house.
After spending time looking for artwork above my white secretary desk, I decided to make my own.
In about one hour, you too can enjoy new artwork for your home that cost of fraction of what you’d spend in a home decor store. You’ll need two 9″ x 12″ wood plaques, wood stain, decoupage glue (like Mod Podge), frame hangers, and the cow printables which you can download at the end of this post.
Stain the outer edges of your wood plaques and let them dry. Cut out the printables. They’re sized so a bit of wood will be showing if you use 9″ x 12″ plaques. You can always resize them for a different size plaque.
Apply a thin coat of Mod Podge to the front of the wood plaque and carefully lay the cow print on top. Gently smooth the print onto the wood plaque, using your fingertips or the flat edge of a credit card to smooth out any air bubbles. Don’t apply too much pressure – you don’t want to rip the paper.
After the glue dries (less than an hour), you can attach the frame hangers to the back of the plaques. Then hang on the wall and enjoy!
Now I can stop looking for artwork to hang in this corner.
I love the vintage appeal of these cow printables that I found at The Graphics Fairy.
