Every year Design on a Dime brings out the industry's biggest names—and its savviest bargain hunters. The fundraiser, which supports Housing Works, features 60 room vignettes by the city's top designers and a host of rising talents, and every item in every room is for sale at 50 to 80 percent off retail prices. All proceeds go to Housing Works programs to provide housing and healthcare to homeless people with AIDS and HIV.

The event is held at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City, with the opening night party on Thursday, April 26. The sale goes on all weekend, with free admission, but the best items go fast, so consider joining your colleagues at one of the most festive design parties of the year. The night before, on Wednesday, April 25, Housing Works also hosts its annual gala Groundbreaker Awards dinner, this year honoring designer Bunny Williams, actor and activist Javier Muñoz, and Robert Chavez, president and CEO of Hermès USA.
