Easter is less than 2 weeks away! How do these holidays always seem to sneak up on us? I’m having Easter brunch at my house this year so I’m getting a few decorations up because I know the grand kids will enjoy it. I remembered I had glass globes and decided to give them a little spring flair. Without further ado, here’s my DIY Easter globes! (And I didn’t forget to choose the Paint-a-Pillow winner … she’s announced at the end of this post.)
These were so much fun to make … and easy, too!
I started off with the glass globes I got from Save on Crafts. I found some cute Easter bunnies on eBay, while the wooden eggs and clip-on birds came from Target.
I dyed Epsom salt with green food color and used it as “grass” for the bottom of the DIY Easter globes. I also cut off the little loop on the wooden eggs.
Then it was just a matter of putting the bunnies and eggs inside the globes.
I tied some baker’s twine to the top of the globe, and clipped a colorful birdie onto the top of each one. So adorable, if I do say so myself! I love the bright cheery colors.
The globes have hooks on the bottoms to string them together.
Or you can simply hang them individually.
I placed 2 of them in little white bowls since you can’t sit them flat.
I think I’m going to get more of these sweet little birds.
I have another idea for using them as decorations.
Now all I need to do is decide on an Easter brunch menu.
As promised, I chose a winner for the Paint-a-Pillow giveaway.
Congratulations to Julie!! Julie, I sent you an email with instructions.
