Wreaths can get pretty pricey so I like to save a few dollars and make my own. My favorite base to use is a grapevine wreath because they’re so easy to work with. When I was first married I used to pick dried grapevines from the fields and twist my own wreaths into shape. Now I just buy them from the craft store for around $5.  Choose a spray or two of leaves and a couple sprays of berries in your fave fall color and you’re ready to go!

For my fall berries grapevine wreath I chose a spray of leaves in a very deep burgundy. Take your wire cutters and cut stems of leaves off the spray, leaving enough stem to stick in between the vines of the grapevine wreath.

Work your way around the wreath, sticking the stems of the leave bunches in between the vines of the wreath. Place them evenly and if necessary, you can hot glue them into place or even use floral wire to keep them secure.

Cut small bunches of the fall berries from their spray leaving enough stem to insert inside the wreath. I didn’t use any glue or florist wire during the process but feel free to do so if you find your leaves and berries need to be a little more secure.  My berry branches had green leaves which pair well with the darker burgundy leaves.

My fall berries grapevine wreath resides above the console table in my dining room. Puddy was watching the creative activity from the stairs but he kept dozing off – and he snores!

How many cats do you see? There’s three! We recently captured the little feral kitten and are domesticating him before finding his forever home.    And that’s Bella in the lower left.

Last week I shared how to create a silk fall flower arrangement, and today it’s a wreath. Next week I’ll have a fall printable for you that I think you’ll enjoy. It’s a super simple way to create unique wall art – the same is true with today’s wreath.
