Yesterday was the first day of summer and for some people, summer means going fishing! When I was a kid my grandpa took me to Lake Shabbona to fish with a bamboo pole. So in honor of PawPaw, I made a “Gone Fishin’” free summer printable that you can download at the end of the post. But that’s not all, I’m joining 10 other bloggers to bring you a variety of summer printables. You’ll find links to their projects at the end of this post.
A simple sign in a driftwood colored frame.
The fish print is in neutral colors so it can go with any decor.
I added a few coastal items to create a summery fishing vignette. PawPaw and I mostly caught Blue Gills at Lake Shabbona. I still can’t believe I used to put my own worm on the hook. I guess he taught me well.
Wooden fish and a starfish join a fishing buoy in front of old books in colors of the sea … blue and green.
I love the shades of blue and green that conjure images of the sea.
The wooden fish garland is a new acquisition. They join another wooden starfish and vintage books in a color reminiscent of sand.
Even if you don’t like to fish, you can still enjoy my free summer printable. I found the fish graphic at The Graphics Fairy and then simply added a background along with the text, Gone Fishin’ – Be Back at Dark Thirty.
My grandkids went fishing with their dad on Father’s Day and this is a photo he took.
My daughter had to work during the day but joined them later in the afternoon for other activities.
