Spend less time decorating and more time enjoying the summer when you make my natural wreath in just 20 minutes. If you’re like me, you’d rather spend your time outside than fussing with home decor.
Today I’m joining a group of bloggers to bring you a variety of summer wreaths you can make yourself. Thanks to Krista at The Happy Housie for putting together this fabulous tour!
I chose to create a natural wreath that’s dressed up with a few live impatiens – my favorite shade flower!
All you need is a grapevine wreath, a 6-pack of impatiens or other small flower, and small fiber pots.
Separate the fiber pots (if connected) and wet them so they’re more pliable. Place a flower plug into each one.
Working from the inside of the wreath, pull a strand or two of grapevine away from the rest of the wreath and tuck a fiber pot with a flower in between the vines. Grapevines are pretty flexible so this should be fairly easy to do. The vines will hot the fiber pot in place.
I used four of the impatiens and fiber pots for my wreath. Keep in mind that the flowers will grow and fill in. I placed the fiber pots in between the vines keeping them as close together as possible.
You can add as many flowers as you want. I like to keep it a little asymmetrical. To water the flowers, simply take the wreath off the door and lay it flat. Water each little pot and once the soil absorbs the water, you can hang the wreath back up.
