Today’s modern farmhouse tour would make Joanna Gaines proud. It carries her signature black and white farmhouse style and is located not far from where I live.
Large double front doors let in plenty of natural light through their windows. I’m not a fan of exterior doors that don’t have a window. If privacy is needed, simply add a shade like you see here.

The nearby staircase also receives a lot of natural light. The gathering of wall lanterns at bottom left add a cozy touch.

Painted white woodwork pairs with subway tile in the modern farmhouse kitchen. Dark counter tops and wood floors keep the kitchen from looking cold and sterile. And I love that hood vent!

I’m lovin’ the look of window inserts painted black while the trim around the window is left white.

Today’s modern farmhouse has an open floor concept. Right off the kitchen is the farmhouse table and to the left is the family room. A subtle wallpaper softens the open room while adding visual interest.

The family room houses a collection of black and white furniture with a simple black chandelier overhead. I love all the windows in this home. That’s a thing of mine – I have to live in a house with plenty of windows. Maybe it’s because I’m claustrophobic.

What do you think of interior doors painted black? I’m thinking of painting some of my interior darks a super dark shade of gray – almost black but not quite. I can always paint them white again if I don’t like the look.

Complementary patterns appear in one of the bathrooms. Subway tile, a striped shower curtain, and a buffalo check floor play well together.

A modern farmhouse fireplace warms the master bedroom. So romantic!

The master bathroom is a dream come true! I like that the commode has its own separate room – and the tile floor is so pretty.

A free standing tub enjoys a pretty “disco” chandelier.

A bit of color makes its appearance in the spacious laundry room. I’d enjoy washing and folding clothes a whole lot more if I had a room like this to do it in.

The laundry also serves as a mud room of sorts. There’s a space to hang jackets, store shoes, and place hats and gloves in cabinets or drawers.

Is this modern farmhouse by M House Development missing anything? It seems like perfection to me!
