Last Sunday we traveled to Sweden to tour a charming villa. Today we’re in Spain touring a home located on the Bay of Santander. The light and airy Spanish house was done by the Design-Build firm of Canexel located in Madrid, and features elements of charming cottage style.
White wood ceilings and creamy white walls allow the sunlight to bounce around the room, creating a light and airy ambiance. Pops of color through the use of pillows add interest to the open-floor layout.

Warmth is added through wood flooring and the use of textiles, such as the sisal rug, rattan furniture pieces, and throws on the sofa and chairs.

The kitchen boasts a large island and enjoys a sunny breakfast nook off to the side. The ceiling is simply amazing and the pendant lights and subway tile add cottage charm to the space.

Once again, the use of wood, via the counter tops, adds warmth to the open space.

A full window on the front door allows plenty of natural light to warm the front entry. Architectural elements such as the planked ceiling and custom trim on the walls help to personalize this lovely Spanish house.

Vaulted ceilings continue through the bedrooms with simple bedding and the same creamy walls seen in the living room and kitchen.

Custom doors grace the bedroom closets while simple window treatments allow prime viewing of outdoor spaces.

And here’s why a view of the outdoor spaces are so important to this Spanish house. A beautiful vista awaits out on the patio.
